Origins of numerology
Since the dawn of time, faced with a growing population, humans have sought reassurance by classifying. The Latin word "numerus" means to share — used to organise, measure and structure.
Pythagoras, Socrates and Plato all explored the symbolic dimension of numbers. Kabbalistic gematria practitioners and many ancient traditions used number symbolism applied to identity to reveal meaning.
The evolution of numerology
In the early 20th century, American women pioneers — L. Dow Balliet, Florence Campbell, and Dr Juno Jordan — established the foundations of modern numerology.
Dr Jordan founded an institute in 1965 and contributed major statistical improvements. Kevin Quinn Avery's 1975 work then helped popularise numerology globally.
The birth of Strategic Numerology®
After many years of research and practice, from 2010 onwards Lydie Castells structured, simplified and innovated this tool, creating new concepts.
Strategic Numerology® reveals personal gifts, talents and life objectives, identifies life dynamics and emotional needs, offers methods to recentre, helps identify blockages and optimises personal qualities.
The birth of ICERNS®
In response to growing demand, Lydie Castells founded the ICERNS® institute in 2021 — Institut de Conseil, d'Enseignement et de Recherche en Numérologie Stratégique®.
The institute pursues three goals: providing consultations through certified master practitioners, transmitting the method through a certified school, and advancing the method through dedicated research.
